Eric died at 86 and found his peace. He is survived by his loving wife and companion of nearly 55 years—Patti B., daughter Gillian (Mike), son Kevin, and grandson Daniel. He was predeceased by his brother Dr Peter Leh­mann and sister Dr Elsa Lehmann.

1919–2008

Dr Julia van Norden died in St. Paul’s Hospital palliative care unit from cancer. She is survived by her loving husband, Herman, three children, Sophia, Wilma, and Simon, and grandchildren Clare, Alexander, and Natalie, and her sister Johanna.

Julia was born in ’s-Hertogenbosch, in southern Holland. She was the elder daughter of Willem and Gerdina Damen Wouters. Her father was an inspector of the Postal, Telegraph, and Telephone administration of the Dutch government. 

Attendance at annual general meetings (AGMs) of any or­ganization is poor more often than not. And, no matter the organization, the same reasons for not attending can usually be heard: don’t have the time, topics to be discussed have no interest for me, travel and accommodation costs too much, little op­portunity to voice my concerns, and so on. Your association’s AGM is no different.
