The Office of the Superintendent of Motor Vehicles (OSMV), in partnership with the BCMA, is revising the BC Guide for Physicians in Determi­ning Fitness to Drive a Motor Vehicle (the Guide) to ensure that it reflects changes in the case law and the best evidence available regarding medical conditions and fitness to drive.

The practise of immunization is dif­ficult given the rapid advances in science and the pace at which new products come on the market. This is further complicated by the delay of new products being placed on the provincial schedule. 

With the Canadian dollar at or close to par with the US currency, a growing number of Canadians are planning trips in the US and around the world, and are in need of travel health insurance.

To answer this need, BCMA has arranged to make a travel insurance plan available exclusively to BCMA members. You’re invited to the premiere of the documentary Wipe Out, which shows the social and economic costs of head injuries in young people. 

The film will be screened at the Vancity Theatre (part of the Van­couver International Film Centre) in Vancouver as part of its Documentary Film Festival. Canada’s Olympic gold-medal-winning snowboarder Ross Rebagliati, who narrates the film, will be part of a panel taking questions after the film. 

The screening takes place at 1 p.m. on Friday, 30 May 2008, at the Vancity Theatre, 1181 Seymour (Seymour and Davie).
