A BC-wide cervix self-screening program will be available starting 29 January 2024, including a first-in-Canada option to screen at home. Women and individuals aged 25 to 69 with a cervix will be able to order a kit to self-screen for the human papillomavirus (HPV), the leading cause of cervical cancer, or have their screening sample collected by a health care provider, and will have access to a network of medical professionals who will support those identified to be at higher risk.
