WorkSafeBC’s provision of health care benefits focuses on supporting physicians in following evidence-based medical best practices. The goal: to achieve optimum outcomes and safe return to work for injured workers. Our pain management principles and medical best practices follow the BCMA’s Evidence-Based Recommendations for Medical Management of Chronic Non-Malignant Pain: Reference Guide for Clinicians.
Although hearing loss can occur when exposed to loud noise over a period of time, it is generally considered that listening to noise at 85 to 90 decibels (dB) for 8 hours could hurt your hearing. For context, a telephone dial tone measures 80 dB and a power saw registers at 110 dB.
Physicians in more than 14 BC communities have developed EMR communities of practice (CoPs). CoPs bring together GPs and specialists in a geographical community via a common electronic medical record (EMR) system. The goal of this collaboration is to improve services to a shared patient population using a common EMR and ease the transition to EMR through peer support and collaboration.
