Advertising Policy

The BC Medical Journal offers display advertising opportunities in our print issue, on our website (bcmj.org), in the BCMJHeadlines e-newsletter, and via enclosures sent with the print issue. Advertisers can also purchase classified ad spacein print and online.

The BCMJ Editorial Board may review submitted ads and may reject or cancel ads at any time. Ads may be rejected if they are deceptive or misleading, promote an illegal product or service, contain unsubstantiated claims, or are deemed by the board to be offensive or defamatory.

Advertisers are responsible for designing their ad artwork and submitting their artwork by the deadline indicated in the Rate Card.

The BCMJ is not responsible for errors in ad artwork submitted by advertisers.

Advertisers wishing to cancel a print or newsletter ad must do so prior to the space booking deadline. If an ad is cancelled past this deadline (or if the ad artwork is not submitted by the artwork submission deadline), the advertiser will be charged a cancellation fee of 50% of the ad price.

Advertising published in the BCMJ does not influence editorial decisions or editorial content. Ads published on bcmj.org do not display on pages displaying clinical article content, and print display ads are not published on the clinical article pages of the print issue.

Ads published in the BCMJ do not represent an endorsement of that product or service by the BC Medical Journal or Doctors of BC.
