In August the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, BC/Yukon Region, an­nounced the establishment of the Dr Brian D. Norris Breast Cancer Research Postgraduate Fellowship. This fellowship, one of two postgraduate fellowships that CBCF awards annually, honors the work of one of the founding Medical Advisory Committee directors, Dr Brian D. Norris.

The Office of the Superintendent of Motor Vehicles (OSMV), in partnership with the BCMA, is revising the BC Guide for Physicians in Determining Fitness to Drive a Motor Vehicle (the Guide) to ensure that it reflects changes in the case law and the best evidence available regarding medical conditions and fitness to drive. In August the Canadian Medical Association and their Centre for Physician Health and Well-being launched a new podcast series called Healthy Practices. Healthy Practices explores the challenges and ways of overcoming the stressors affecting the personal and professional lives of physicians.

The podcast is hosted by psychiatrist Dr Mamta Gautam, who is known as the “doctor’s doctor,” since physicians make up her entire practice.
