Dr Victor Dyck was a dedicated and well-respected physician who practised medicine for 52 years, the past 32 in Armstrong and Vernon. He loved his profession, continuing to work part-time past retirement and up until the time of his death.

Dr Steve Thorson died in Saanich Peninsula Hospital on 1 February 2005 after a long struggle with various illnesses.

Dr Kenneth Munro Telford passed away peacefully in Victoria on 8 June 2004, in his 92nd year. He is survived by his wife, Grace, after a marriage of 61 years, and by their sons, Malcolm (Helen) and Gordon, and daughter, Allison (Rene) Weir, as well as 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was the son of Dr Robert and Mrs Maude Telford of Vancouver, where he grew up.

Asante Centre receives grant to combat FASD

In February Ken Stewart, MLA for Maple Ridge - Pitt Meadows, presented a $450 000 grant to Dr Kwadwo Asante, medical director for the Asante Centre for Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, to help combat fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD).
