Dr Norman Wignall passed away on 28 August after a lengthy illness.
Dr Wignall was born in Barrow-in-Furness, England, and immigrated to Canada in 1956. He was a member of the Royal (British 8th) Army Medical Corps serving in North Africa and the Middle East. A graduate of the University of Liverpool Faculty of Medicine, Norman practised pathology with the qualifications of CD, MB, ChB, FRCPC in Vancouver until his retirement in 1991. He was also a member of the BC Regiment and Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps.
He is survived by his wife, Teiko, and son, Norman Jr. He will be missed. His family is grateful to his friends and colleagues for their support and to the medical professionals who always assisted with compassion and effectiveness.
