Dr Norman Wignall passed away on 28 August after a lengthy illness. 

Dr Wignall was born in Barrow-in-Furness, England, and immigrat­ed to Canada in 1956. He was a member of the Royal (British 8th) Army Medical Corps serving in North Africa and the Middle East. A graduate of the University of Liverpool Faculty of Medicine, Norman practised pathology with the qualifications of CD, MB, ChB, FRCPC in Vancouver until his re­tirement in 1991. He was also a mem­ber of the BC Regiment and Ro­yal Canadian Army Medical Corps.

He is survived by his wife, Teiko, and son, Norman Jr. He will be missed. His family is grateful to his friends and colleagues for their support and to the medical professionals who always assisted with compassion and effectiveness.
