The Federation of Medical Women of Canada, a national medical organization committed to the development of women physicians and to the well-being of all women, will hold their annual meeting in Vancouver this year, from 16 to 18 September. 

The meeting, themed “Trailblazers: Catch­ing Our Dreams,” will offer attendees a unique opportunity to be inspired by outstanding medical women, hear about new advances in women’s health care, and connect with colleagues and students.

Trailblazer topics include leadership, work-life/home-life balance, phy­sician health, media, career change, preventive health, immunization, cervical cancer, contraception, and osteoporosis.

Two pre-conference leadership workshops on 16 September (Friday), focusing on improving management and team-building skills, are offered for an additional fee to a limited number of delegates. 

Delegates will have a chance to connect with one another at networking events on Friday evening and Sat­urday afternoon, and those with a Saturday Soiree ticket can relax on a sunset dinner cruise. The awards lunch on Saturday is a chance to celebrate wo­men who aptly fit the theme of trailblazer, and, in the spirit of the West Coast, there will also be Tai Chi and yoga breaks throughout the weekend.
