The SGP sent out the following updates to the fee schedule in December.
GPSC telephone/e-mail fees 14039, 14049, 14069, and 14073 have been updated to a single 14079 fee billable up to five times per patient after billing 14033, 14043, 14063, and/or 14053 in the previous 18 months. The new fee came into effect 1 January 2012.
A new fee code (10029) for Rotarix (oral rotavirus immunization given at 2 and 4 months) is available (see the article on page 42 [8]). The updated immunization schedule is posted on the SGP website (www.sgp.bc.ca [9]).
ICBC has a new multiple insurer 13075 fee of the same value as the WCB 13070 fee (used when an additional complaint unrelated to an ICBC/WCB claim is dealt with in the same visit). Both fee codes are retroactive to 1 April 2011. Please see the SGP website for more details.
Finally, screening for substance use in the non-methadone maintenance population has been approved for point of care urine testing. Timing and the new fee code will be sent out when available.
