The David M. Bachop Gold Medal for Distinguished Medical Service award may be made annually to a British Columbia doctor who is judged by the selection committee to have made an extraordinary contribution in the field of organized medicine, community service, or both.

Achievement should be so outstanding as to serve as an inspiration and challenge to the medical profession in British Columbia.

Only one award will be made in any one year and there is no obligation on the fund to make the award annually.

The Selection Committee will accept nominations until 4 April 2013.  A letter of nomination including a current curriculum vitae of the candidate should be sent to:
