Doctors’ offices may be experiencing underperforming networks, resulting in reduced network performance of more than 50%. Delays may include random network disconnections, extensive spooling/buffering, slow printing and scanning, or repeatedly needing to log in to the system.
Performance issues may be due to incorrectly configured or installed networks, equipment, or both. To find the appropriate solution, practices are encouraged to test the performance of their network using one of three quick options that assess the network’s speed, synchronization, and activities. For these tests and more information from the Doctors Technology Office, visit www.doctorsofbc.ca/technical-bulletins [8] for a technical bulletin, Test Your Network (PPN or ISP) Performance.
