AmericanEHR Partners, a company founded by BC physician Dr Alan Brookstone, has partnered with the American Medical Association to provide US physicians with information and education on electronic health records. 

Dr Brookstone first launched the website CanadianEMR in 2007 to support physician selection and pro­vincial adoption of electronic medical records. In 2010, Dr Brookstone and his partners launched the American EHR Partners website in collaboration with the American College of Physicians (ACP). Dr Brookstone’s Vancouver-based company, Cientis Tech­nologies, now operates the largest EMR advisory site in the US in conjunction with organizations that represent more than 65% of US physicians.

The AMA will take a seat on the AmericanEHR Partners’ Professional Society Advisory Group to provide input on education, collaborative initiatives, and future development, with the support of the American College of Physicians and 18 other organizations.
